Abstract

Cooperatives is an economic organization of people who consists of people who perform cooperation based on the principle of cooperatives, social character and give freedom to members on the basis of family principle to enhance the welfare of Members. Syariah Cooperative is an economic endeavor that uses principles that carry moral ethics and observe the halal or the haraam of a business that is carried out in accordance with the sharia in Islam. Efforts to improve the development of cooperatives is to improve cooperative performance by improving the performance of cooperative management. Cooperative management has the obligation to implement policies related to cooperatives that have been determined at the Cooperative Members' Meeting (RAT). The success of cooperatives can not be separated from the participation of members, cooperative me mbers have an obligation to comply with the Articles of Association (AD) and Bylaws (ART) as well as the decisions agreed upon at the Member Meeting. Members are also obliged to participate in business activities organized by cooperatives. This research aims to (1) analize the development of cooperative business in Tanjung Lago District (2) analize the performance of managers and the participation of cooperative members in Tanjung Lago district (3) analize the performance relations of managers with the participation of cooperative members in Tanjung Lago District. The research was conducted at BMT Trans Mekar Sari Mandiri Cooperative and BMT Trans Damai Mandiri Cooperative. Data retrieval conducted in September and October 2019. The method used in this study is a survey method and the sample research method used in this study is the proportional stratification random sample method. The result of the analysis of the development of the remaining business results result and capital of the cooperatives in Tanjung Lago Subdistrict fluctuated. Non performing loan (NPL) cooperatives in Tanjung Lago Subdistrict reaches 30% and the lowest is 10% which is classified as unhealthy criteria because the non performing loan is more than 5%. Based on the results of the study, the performance of cooperative management in Tanjung Lago Subdistrict obtained an average score of 33,60 with moderat criteria and achievement of 74,57%. The result of the analysis of the participation of cooperative members based on 5 variable indicators obtainedan average score of 30,35 which is in the medium criteria and 67,43% achievement. The relationship between the performance of cooperative management and the participation of cooperative members in Tanjung Lago Subdistrict has a very strong reaktionship wuth the correlation coefficient number 0,750 and has a direct relationship.
