Abstract

WASTE MANAGEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEM PLAN IN WEST PALEMBANG CITY DOWNSTREAM Faculty of Engineering Sriwijaya University Bobby Wikso ABSTRACT Palembang City is one of the major cities in Indonesia that is growing rapidly in terms of development and population growth, it is cause some problems such as the increasing amount of waste production in that city. Therefore, it needs a plan to add more TPS as one of infrastructure plan waste management in Palembang City. The objectives of this research are to determine TPS existing needs for now, for 10 years ahead and the design of TPS plan in west Palembang City downstream. This research are using some methods for knowing the amount of TPS existing and amount of waste such as, location survey and literature study. The results of this research are showing TPS existing that were able to accommodate the amount of waste produced per day are 166 pieces, and the amount of TPS needs for next 10 years are 188 pieces. The location of these TPS are plotted in map using the Arc-gis program. TPS placement design was made using Sketch-up program and calculation of container plate for TPS is using manual calculation.
