Abstract

Banyuasin is the district with the highest filariasis sufferers in South Sumatra. almost all areas in Banyuasin District are filariasis endemic areas with mrRate> 1.5%. The purpose of this research is to analyze any risk factors that cause filariasis events in the work area of the Banyuasin district's health center in 2019. This research was an observational analytic research with case control design. This research had 33 samples from 11 cases and 22 controls. Data analysis was done by univariate and bivariate using Chi-Square Test. The overall results of this study were the majority of the control group (66.7%). Gender for women (66.7%), occupation at risk (63.9%), habit of going out from home "no"(69.4%), habit of using mosquito nets "yes" (50.0%), habit of using mosquito drugs "yes" (94.4%) ), The habit of using clothes and trousers "no" (83.3%), the habit of hanging clothes "yes"(63.9%). Poor SPAL condition (88.9%), Use of wire mesh "no"(63.9), Poor ceiling conditions (86.1%). The conclusion of this research is the relationship between the habit of going out at night and the habit of using long clothes with filariasis. Prevention of filariasis transmission is done by reducing the intensity of contact between individuals and mosquitoes. How to reduce it by not doing activities outside the house at night if you do not have interests, using mosquito nets, using mosquito repellent, and using clothes and trousers. In addition, it improves the condition of SPAL so that it does not become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
