Abstract

Knowledge is the whole ideas, ideas that humans have about the whole world including humans and their lives. Own knowledge is usually obtained from information obtained both from formal and non-formal education. Mother's knowledge about diet and growth determines the child's growth and development so that the child's nutritional needs can be fulfilled. There are six levels of knowledge, namely know, understand, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation. Purpose of this study was to find out the description of the mother's knowledge about eating patterns and growth of children aged 6-36 months. Method This study uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach conducted by in-depth interviews (indepth interview), and observation. This qualitative approach is used so that it is clear and more in-depth about the picture of eating patterns and growth of children aged 6-36 months. The results of this study are that mothers lack knowledge about eating patterns and growth of children aged 6-36 months. The conclusion of this study is in terms of education, the average education of mothers is only graduated from elementary school, so that mothers tend to provide food as needed and provide family food for children, while in terms of growth, children are still classified as normal growth. Suggestions from this research are expected to the mother so that what is known about diet and growth can be applied in children's daily lives.
