Abstract

The purpose of research ware to analyze the marketing channels of lebak swamp rice, to analyze the level of marketing efficiency, and to describing strategies improved marketing of lebak swamp rice. This research was conducted in Tapus Village, Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. Determination of location was done deliberately (purposive). This research was conducted from February 2019 to May 2019. The research method used survey method. The sampling method used was a simple random sampling method of 42 samples. Based on results of this study indicate that marketing of lebak swamp rice products in Tapus Village consists of two marketing channels. Marketing of lebak swamp rice in Tapus Village has a market structure that tends to be imperfect competition market, meanwhile the marketing behavior that occurs was that prices are formed based on the amount of demand and supply for rice, and the existing market mechanism and farmers as recipients of prices. The payment system was the majority in cash and cooperation between marketing institutions was a business partner relationship and there is also mutual trust and kinship so that they become customers. The marketing improvement strategy in marketing swamp lebak rice is the strategy needed to improve marketing in the poduk by increasing the sale value of rice to consumers, increase rice storage shed, and establishing certified rice seed businesses. Meanwhile the proposed price strategy requires the role of the government in finding the right instruments to protect rice price policies, developing marketing programs, and on distribution strategies or places proposed to improve access to Tapus Village and for promotion strategies to increase promotion of personal selling, and promotion of sales and publicity.
