Abstract

The objective of this research was: (1) analyzing the amount of time allocation of labor used in vegetable farming, vegetable farming outside and outside farming in Tanjung Seteko Village, (2) analyzing the amount of income earned by farmers in Tanjung Seteko Village (3) analyzing the relationship between allocations labor time with income in Tanjung Seteko Village, and (4) analyzing household welfare level of vegetable farmers in Tanjung Seteko Village. Site selection is done intentionally or purposively. This research was conducted in April-May 2019. The research method uses survey methods. With respondents as many as 30 people and divided into 4 types of farmers. Type 1 farmers are farmers who only do vegetable farming. Type 2 farmers are farmers who do vegetable farming and vegetable farming outside. Type 3 farmers are farmers who do vegetable farming and outside farming. Type 4 farmers are farmers who do vegetable farming, vegetable farming outside and vegetable farming. The data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained from direct interviews with farmers and secondary data obtained from sources related to this study. The results showed that the time allocation of farmer household workers was 231.07 HOK / year. The time allocation of farm laborers of type 2 farmers is 239.86 HOK / yr. The time allocation of farm laborers of type 3 households is 374.57 HOK /yr. The time allocation of farm laborers of type 4 farmers is 724.61 HOK / year. The amount of income obtained by type 1 farmers from vegetable farming is an average of Rp27,687,855.50 per arable area per year. The income of type 2 farmers is Rp. 24,892,031.74 per cultivated area per year. Type 3 farmers' income is Rp45,956,667.00 per arable area per year. Type 4 farmers' income is Rp. 9,878,094.22 per arable area per year. There is a positive relationship between the time allocation of labor and the level of income of vegetable farmers, meaning that the greater the allocation of labor time devoted by farmers, the greater the income of vegetable farmers. The average income of type 1 farmers, type 2 farmers and type 4 farmers is smaller than the value of the family's decent living needs (FDL). This shows that the income of farmers of type 1, type 2 and type 4 has not fulfilled the household's decent living needs (FDL). Type 3 income are greater than the necessity of a family's decent living (FDL) per month. This shows that the income of type 3 farmers has fulfilled the needs of decent living in Tanjung Seteko Village. It can be concluded that type 1, 2 and 4 farmers in Tanjung Seteko village are not prosperous while type 3 farmers are prosperous. Keywords: labor allocation, welfare of farmers.
