Abstract
Abstrak— Kopi Pagar Alam merupakan salah satu kopi Besemah dari Sumatera Selatan. Tujuan penelitian pada paper ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan profil dan karakter usaha tani kopi di Kota Pagar Alam berdasarkan descriptive statistics, nilai korelasi, dan representasi grafik berupa histogram dan matrix plot. Faktor-faktor yang mencerminkan profil dan karakter usaha tani kopi yang diteliti meliputi profil, karakter, dan kinerja petani, keadaan lahan, penggunaan tenaga kerja, produksi, dan faktor eksternal. Pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan purposive sampling pada 214 petani kopi yang memiliki lahan dan terlibat langsung dalam pengolahan lahan. Secara umum, mayoritas responden berusia produktif, belajar bertani dan kepemilikan lahan dari keluarga secara turun temurun, pola bertani tunggal, motivasi usaha dan motivasi kerja yang cukup tinggi, dan budaya kerjanya termasuk sedang atau mendekati rendah. Jumlah tenaga kerja dalam keluarga lebih banyak terlibat daripada tenaga kerja di luar keluarga. Pengetahuan petani terhadap penting atau kurang pentingnya faktor-faktor lingkungan pada tanaman kopi lebih beragam. Berdasarkan matrix plot, nilai variabel horizontal pada suatu interval tertentu mempunyai nilai variabel vertikal yang bervariasi, sehingga korelasi antara kedua variabel rendah. Korelasi yang tinggi terjadi pada hubungan antara umur dengan lama bertani kopi, dan juga antara produksi rata-rata 1 pohon dengan produktivitas lahan. Hasil descriptive statistics berupa histogram dari variabel-variabel tersebut dapat digunakan untuk analisis lebih lanjut, terutama untuk analisis korespondensi. Kata kunci— Usaha tani kopi Pagar Alam, descriptive statistics, profil petani kopi, karakter petani kopi, deskripsi. Abstract— Pagar Alam Coffee is one of the Besemah coffees from South Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to describe the profile and character of coffee farming in Pagar Alam based on descriptive statistics, correlation values, and graphical representations in the form of histograms and matrix plots. Factors that represent the profile and character of the coffee farms studied include the profile, character, and performance of farmers, land conditions, workers used, production, and external factors. The selection of respondents was done by purposive sampling of 214 coffee farmers who own land and are directly involved in land management. In general, the majority of respondents are at productive age, learning farming and land ownership from families for generations, single farming patterns, business motivation and work motivation are quite high, and the work culture is moderate or near low. The number of workers in the family is more involved than workers outside the family. Farmers' knowledge of the importance or lack of importance of environmental factors in coffee plants is more diverse. Based on the matrix plot, the value of the horizontal variable at a certain interval has varying vertical variable values, so the correlation between the two variables is low. The high correlation occurs between the age and duration of coffee farming, and also between the average production of 1 tree and land productivity. The results of descriptive statistics in the form of histograms of these variables can be used for further analysis, especially for correspondence analysis.
