Abstract
Musi River Estuary, South Sumatera is the place where the Musi River flows. Because of the many human activities in the Musi River Estuary, the potential for environmental pollution is very influential on the survival of the mollusk community. This study aims to identify and analyze the diversity of mollusk community, and to analyze the relationship between physic – chemical parameters and the mollusk community. Research procedures includes : sampling mollusks and sediments at the station point, measurement of physical – chemical parameters, water, sedimen substrate analysis, and identification of mollusks and data analysis. The results showed there were 7 species of mollusks which were grouped into 2 classes, namely bivalves and gastropods. The results of sediment substrate analysis on average have a clay substrate. Mollusk community shows the value of diversity (H") (0.56 - 1.24). The level of uniformity (E) (0.29-0.64). For dominance (C) (0.33 - 0.63). Results the main component analysis is only Station 1, there are no identifier variables, at Station 2 with dominant and clay identifiers, Station 3 with mud identifier variables and Station 4 with DO, sand, salinity temperature, pH, uniformity, and variations.
