Abstract

LISTIENA NOVIYANDITA, Development Of Leaf Blight Disease (Helminthosporium sp) In Several Corn Growth (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt L.) (Supervised by HARMAN HAMIDSON) Corn commodity (Zea mays L.) has an important and strategic role ini National agricultural development, because corn is the main source of carbohydrates and protein after rice. But the requisites for corn in the country is still not fulfilled. The low production of corn is caused by the presence of crop pest organism like pests and plant diseases.There are three main plant diseases that can potentially reduce the production of corn including downy mildew, leaf blight, leaf rust. Leaf blight can reduce productions by up to 50%. Leaf blight is caused by the fungus Helminthosporium sp. This fungus can live and develop in various phases of maize growth. This study aims to look at the severity and itensity of leaf blight attack in several phases of maize growth. The results showed the highest develop blight was found in plants aged 60 days, namely the vegetative phase. The highest percentage of incidence is found in aged 60 days that is 16,64%. LISTIENA NOVIYANDITA, Perkembangan Penyakit Hawar Daun (Helminthosporium sp) Pada Beberapa Fase Pertumbuhan Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt L.) (Dibimbing oleh HARMAN HAMIDSON) Komoditi jagung (Zea mays L.) memiliki peran penting dan strategis dalam pembangunan pertanian secara Nasional. Tanaman jagung merupakan komoditas yang bernilai ekonomis karena sebagai sumber utama karbohidrat dan protein setelah beras. Namun kebutuhan akan jagung di dalam Negeri masih belum tercukupi. Rendahnya produksi jagung diakibatkan oleh adanya serangan organisme penggangu tanaman baik dari kelompok hama maupun penyakit. Terdapat tiga penyakit utama yang dapat berpotensi menurunkan produksi jagung diantaranya adalah Bulai, Hawar daun, dan Karat daun. Prnyakit Hawar daun dapat menurunkan produksi hingga 50%. Penyakit hawar daun disebabkan oleh cendawan Helminthosporium sp. Cendawan ini dapat hidup dan berkembang dalam berbagai fase pertumbuhan tanaman jagung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat nilai keparahan serta intensitas serangan penyakit hawar daun pada beberapa fase pertumbuhan tanaman jagung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan tingkat perkembangan tertinggi terdapat pada tanaman umur 60 hst yaitu fase vegetatif. Persentase insidensi tertinggi terdapat pada tanaman umur 60 hst sebesar 16,64%.
