Abstract

Application of Picture Cards to Train the Vocabulary Skill of Children of Autism Ages 4-5 Years at TKIT Izzuddin Palembang. It is the title of qualitative descriptive research. This study aims to practice the vocabulary skills of children with autism aged 4-5 years with the application of picture cards in TKIT Izzuddin Palembang. This study uses a qualitative descriptive study with a case study approach to a single subject (single subject research). The subject of the research was children with autism at the age of 4 years with the initials ZKA. Data collection uses performance tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data collection was carried out for 3 meetings using performance tests related to mentioning noun vocabulary. During the implementation of the picture card, the subject showed activity by giving responses during the activity and was enthusiastic in the learning activities and could concentrate as long as there were no disturbances internally or externally. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of picture cards can train the vocabulary skills of children with autism aged 4-5 years in TKIT Izzuddin Palembang. This can be seen from the ability of subjects to mention the noun vocabulary of animal names during the implementation using picture cards. Keywords: Autism, Picture Card, Vocabulary Skill
