Abstract

Video conference is a multimedia application which using video and sound for communication through a long distance. Supplies a big bandwidth at the campus can be used to service college students for example a video conference as services through a distance learning. Video conference communication made through the Virtual Private Network (VPN). This research using two methods are multicast ith routing Protocol Independent Multicast Sparse Mode (PIM-SM) and unicast methods with Routing Information Protocol (RIP). Implementation from VPN network is use Trueconf as an application for video conference. The result bandwidth of multicast is 542,65Kbits/s and unicast 1,06Mbits/s. The lowest delay of multicast is 0,001096s with average delay 0,0000427s and unicast is 0,001733s with average delay is 0,0000825s.
