Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of vaious natural inhibitors (Carvone and Linalool) against inhibition of sprouting in canna rhizomes (Canna edulis Ker). This research was carried out from December 2018 until march 2019 in the shadow house at the Department of Agronomy, faculty of Agricultur, Sriwijaya University. This research used a completely randomized desigh method with 7 treatments, namely A control, B Angelonia 10 % (Angelonia angustifolia), C Angelonia 20 % (Angelonia angustifolia), D Kemangi 10 % (Ocimum citriodorum), E Kemangi 20 % (Ocimum citriodorum), F Daun Jintan 10 % (Plectranthus amboinicus), G Daun Jintan 20 % (Plectranthus amboinicus), and 4 plants replications obtaining 28 units treatment. Each unit treatment consists of 4 plants which total up 112 plants. Based on the results, natural inhibitors (Carvone and Linalool) not significant on the natural inhibition of decreased rhizome weight, sprouting growth, height plants, and number of leaves. the results of the best treatment research were found in the Daun jintan 20% (Plectranthus amboinicus) among the treatments given.
