Abstract
This study was aim at describing the improvement of the learning outcomes in thematic learning through application of Word Square model. This study used classroom action research. The subject of this study was third grader students of public elementary school 129 Palembang in 2018/2019 academic year that consisted 39 students. The technique of collecting data uses observation and test. This study consisted of two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meetings. The result showed that the value of student learning outcomes has increased, it is seen from the completeness of student learning in cycle I with average of 72,36 in percentage of 69,4%. In cycle II students’ learning completeness increased by an average 81,11 in percentage of 83,3%. From the result of observation, the activity of the students that have increased, in the first cycle of the classical percentage of 69,87% with active category. In the second cycle increased to 81,5% with very active category. The result of this study can be concluded that through the application of 69,87% model can improve the student’s outcomes and student’s learning activity of third grader students of public elementary school 129 Palembang.
