Abstract

This objectives of this research is to know the financial performance at metal and others industry subsector companies at indonesia stock exchange viewed from the analysis of trend and financial performance. The Analysis of trend on financial data more than three years using index numbers. Wheres financial ratios used in analyzing the financial performance of the company's consist of liquidity ratios ( current ratio, cash ratio, and working capitaJ to assets ratio), leverage ratios (total debt to total assets and totaJ debt to equity ratio), profitability ratios (net profit margin, return on equity, and return on investment) and activity ratios (totaJ assets turnover ratio, receivable turnover, and working capitaJ turnover ratio). Research findings show that the five companies belonging to the metal and others industry subsector companies only Jakarta Kyoei Steel Works of the balance sheet (assets and liabilities) tends to decrease during the last four years it's 2005-2008. In the :financial data for the statements of income, the Alakasa Industrindo, Alumondo Light MetaJ Industry and Citra Tubindo company, profits tend to decline the last two years (2007-2008). And for Jakarta Kyoei Steel Works and Tembaga Mulia Semanan Company, loss for the year 2007-2008. While the results of financial ratios analysis shows that from 2004-2008 the ratio of liquidity, leverage, and activities for the five companies fluctuate in value. Profitability ratios show the five companies have a poor ability in generating profits for the year 2007-2008.
