Abstract

PT Duta Alam Sumatera is one of the private coal mining companies operating in Lahat, South Sumatra which has an IUP area of 357 hectares. PT Duta Alam Sumatera has three contractors tasked with carrying out mining operations, namely PT Anugerah Bumi Lestari (ABL), PT Global Energi Makmur (GEM), and PT Karya Raya Adi Pratama (KRAP). PT Anugerah Bumi Lestari is the only contractor that has the task of stripping overburden and coal getting done in Pit 3. The production target of PT Anugerah Bumi Lestari in January 2019 was 95.855 BCM overburden and 59.026 tons of coal. This study aims to conduct a technical study of excavation and hauling equipment to achieve the predetermined overburden and coal production targets. After the evaluation, the total actual overburden production amounted to 75.059,71 BCM and coal amounted to 49.478 tons. Based on this actual total production, it is known that the predetermined production target has not been achieved, both in stripping overburden and coal extraction activities. In stripping overburden and coal getting activities, obstacles were found in the form of poor road conditions, ineffective working time, and lack of compatibility of excavation and hauling equipment so that studies of road geometry, work efficiency, and match factors were carried out. Improvement of overburden hauling geometry accelerates transport cycle time, where Iveco Trakker 380 cycle time from 864.74 seconds to 744.14 seconds and Nissan CWB 340 cycle time from 784.28 seconds to 683.72 seconds. The work efficiency of stripping overburden is increased from 0.60 to 0.66 and effective work time increases from 7.16 hours to 8 hours. Match factor after the study was 1.08 for CAT 349D fleet with 6 Iveco Trakker 380 and 1.11 for CAT 345C fleet with 6 units of Nissan CWB 340. After a technical study of stripping overburden activities, an increase in total production was obtained, which for a total production increased from 75.059,71 BCM to 92.252,16 BCM. In coal getting activities, the improvement of road geometry makes the cycle time of the hauling equipment drop from 1,141.26 seconds to 1,111.12 seconds. The working efficiency of coal getting activities is increased from 0.60 to 0.66, effective work time also increases from 7.16 hours to 8 hours and match factor to 1.03 between fleet CAT 345C and 7 units of Nissan CWB 340. After technical studies are carried out on coal getting activities, resulting in increased production from 49.403,14 tons to 60.719,36 tons of coal.
