Abstract

Early marriage is a marriage carried out by someone who has a relatively young age. Bangka Belitung Province has the highest number of early marriages in Serdang Village, South Bangka Regency with 486 souls. The purpose of this study is to Analyze the Picture of Early Marriage Decision Making in Adolescents in Serdang Village, South Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung. This research is analytic descriptive by using in-depth interview method. There were 22 informants in this study consisting of 8 main informants Youth, 8 parents / family relatives informants from adolescents, 1 key informant Head of DKPPKB, 1 key informant Head of Population Control Section DKPPKB South Bangka, 1 Traditional Figure, 1 Religious Figure, 1 Community Leaders and 1 Youth Figure in Serdang Village. The results showed that early marriage decision making occurred due to several factors including social norms, economic factors, limited opportunities for education and a lack of empowerment. In the Serdang Village community environment there is a social norm that is mass marriage, where adolescents are permitted to marry at the mass marriage. According to adolescent girls economic factors influence in making decisions early marriage while according to adolescent boys economic factors do not affect. High dropout rates and lack of empowerment related to reproductive health also affect early marriage. Adolescents who get married early say that they feel happier and independent, but there are also those who feel the negative effects of dropping out of school and typing in harmony in the household. Early marriage according to all informants and key informants the contributing factor is the social norm factor because in Serdang village the average age of marriage is 15-19 years old.
