Abstract
Cauliflower is a vegetable crop that has high economic value. The aims of this study was to improve the growth and production of cauliflower by applying compost and vermicompost fertilizer to the growth of flower cabbage plants, as well as pH, soil and plants. This research was conducted on a floating farming system and using polybags. The research used factorial design with 2 factors, there are (500 and 100 g / plant-1) and vermicompost (0,250, 500 and 1000 g plant-1). Compost in doses 500 g of plant-1 and 1000 g of plant-1 has no significant effect on plant growth, pH, and soil and plant P. The treatment of vermicompost at a dose of 0 g of plant-1 gave the best results on the number of leaves and the age of the flower appear due to balanced water and nutrient content, and excess dosing can inhibit growth. Vermicompost in doses of 1000 g of plant-1 was significantly different from the others in plant height at the eighth week and in P plants. Interaction of compost and vermicompost can increase pH up to 6.58 and P plants, but didn’t give effect on P soil despite the initial P soil increase.
