Abstract

This research aims to know the species of plants, parts used, herb, and how the processing plants as a traditional medicine by ethnic West Bangka Malays in Kelapa District. The research was carried out from March until May 2019. The research method was purposive sampling technique with descriptive against six of the traditional healer which comes from five villages in Kelapa District. Data collection using interview with the emic approach. Furthermore, observations are made on plants that are in accordance with information from traditional healers. The data analyzed are descriptive. The results showed there are 40 types of plants used by the tribe of Malays West Bangka as ingredients in traditional medicines that are formulate into 40 kinds of traditional medicinal herb. Part of the plant used is the leaf (24 herb), stem (6), the root (5) and rhizome (4), and fruit (3). Even so, there are potions that use plant parts simultaneously i.e. leaves and stems (2 herb), leaves and roots as well as the leaves and fruit (each 1 herb). Plants are the most widely utilized are the Zingiberaceae, namely Alpinia galanga (the value of the benefit; UVs = 0.5), Curcuma mangga Veleton & Zijp (Uvs = 0.33), Curcuma domestica Val (Uvs = 0.16), Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb (Uvs = 0.16). Ways of utilization of herbs for treatment is applied topically, affixed, eaten in the form of fresh or cooked as a stew, mixture of water bath post birth. The implications of the results of research on the World of Plant Learning on subjects Biology High School is in the form of RPP, LKPD and Booklet. These learning tool have the results of expert validation in sufficient categories (Kappa coefficient = 0.55). Keywords: Traditional medicine, West Bangka Malay tribe, Medicinal plants
