Abstract
Background : Work stress is a psychological problem that influence the quality and work result. There are so many factors in work can be stressor. Some studies found that the biggest stressor is intrinsic factor that derives from work environment. The difference of work factor may cause differential work stress level of the workers. Method : This study used cross sectional design. All of subject of research population as many as 24 workers from WTC area and 32 workers from official area were involved in this study. Research instrument is questioner and data analysis used non parametric mann whitney test. Result : Level of work stress among the workers in WTC and official area don’t have difference (p>0.05). Official workers have level of work stress that belong to very low category is 14 respondents (43,8%), 7 respondents (21,9%) for low category, and 11 respondents (34,4%) for medium category. Whereas, WTC workers have level of work stress that belong to very low category is 8 respondents (33,3%), 11 respondents (21,9%) for low category, and 5 respondents (20,8%) for medium category. Average of work stress level for official and WTC workers is belong to low category. Official workers have bigger work stress score variation. Conclusion : There is no difference of work stress level among WTC and official workers in SHE Department PT Medco E&P Indonesia Rimau Asset. That because each area have unique stressor and the workers both of area have some equation in intrinsic and extrinsic factor that make their respond to stressor is seem.
