Abstract

Clean water treatment plants are needed by the PDAM (Regional Water Company Supply). At present, the PDAM uses a conventional water treatment plant control system to produce ineffective and inefficient water treatment. Therefore, the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) functions to replace conventional water treatment plants so it can be automatically and be more effective and efficient. In this study, the PLC control system starts from the process of taking river water that has been deposited and then processed by the sedimentation and filtration process. If the pH value of water is < 6.5, the servo motor will open 50% to drain the liquid high pH so that the pH value will increase and if the turbidity value of water > 25 NTU must be left in the range 2-6 minutes so that the remaining small particles in the water will settle. Mini PDAM water treatment process based on PLC Controlwave takes 12-15 minutes to produce 5.0-6.0 liters of clean water from 7.0-8.0 liters of river water which can be monitored in real-time from the personal computer. So the water treatment plant control system based on PLC is able to produce water treatment plants that are more effective and efficient, can be monitored, may reduce operator errors, and are easily controlled in real-time so that the distribution of clean water to residents can be supplied on time.
