Abstract

Population growth that continues to increase in Palembang city causes the need for shelter continues to increase. The population in the city of Palembang is not only native, but there are migrants. Newcomers and locals need places to live, such as housing, apartments and rented houses. However, limited costs are often one of the reasons for not buying a house or apartment. So that rented houses become an alternative choice for the community. The problem that is often faced in determining the choice of rented houses is the large number of rented house choices in Palembang, so that it is difficult to get data and information about rented houses. Therefore we need a system that is able to solve these problems. In this study a Decision Support System was built which provides recommendations for the choice of rented house accompanied by data and information about the rented house. By using the TOPSIS Method which aims to make it easier for users to find and determine the choice of rented house based on the criteria - rents, number of rooms, rented house area, water sources, electricity payments, and location. The final result of this system will provide the best solution from the selected alternatives.
