Abstract

This study aims to compare the quality between rice seed varieties after treated drought stress during vegetative phase. Research has been carried out at test farm then seed test at the Seed Technology Laboratory of the Agronomy Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The study was conducted in December 2019 to January 2020. Rice seed production was carried out in the Agrotech Training Center (ATC) paddy field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University on August 16 - 9 December 2019, with different water content as treatments. Drought stress treatment water content (soil moisture 63, 5%) and the control treatment (100% soil moisture content) .Then the seed yield was tested in the laboratory, the test included vigor and seed viability of 3 replications. Each treatment consisted of 14 varieties of rice plants. Each test was tested as many as 50 seeds. The sprout test method with the Rolled Paper Test was established (UKDd) and data analysis used the T-Test test. The varieties used are Inpago 12, Inpago Unsoed 1, Inpago 4, Inpago 5, Inpago 9, Inpago 8, Inpago 10, Inpara 8, Inpara 9, Rindang 1, Rindang 2 Agritan, Situ Patenggang, Towuti and Batu tegi. The results showed that the quality of cultivated rice seeds with drought stress treatment was not significantly different from cultivated rice seeds with control treatments on all variables. Varieties that have the best value of seed quality with a vegetative phase drought stress treatment are Inpara 8, Inpago 9, Inpago 10, Inpara 9, Situ Patenggang, Towuti and Batu Tegi.
