Abstract

The purpose of this studi are 1) describe the system of procurement of raw materials at a rice mill, 2) describes the process of processing raw materials and distribution of rice in a rice mill, 3) Analyzing the added value of rice to rice in a rice mill. This research was conducted in Miji Village Kandis District ogan Ilir Regency. The selection of research locations was done deliberately. Primary data collection at the study site was carried out in December 2019. The method used ini this research is the case study method. The technique of taking sample farmers was done by using purposive sampling method. The results showed that the procurement of raw materials in rice mills is purchased from farmers in the area around the rice mill and also from Rawa Jitu (Lampung) and Belitang areas. The processing process starts from the purchase of dried unhulled rice harvesting for 1 to 2 days milling process for 1 hour can grind 1 ton of grain and finally packaging. Its distribution of rice production is sold to retailers in Tanjung Raja, Palembang and also end consumers. The results of the value added of rice at the rice mill of Rp767.69 kg so that the ratio of value added of 14,28 percent is included in the low criteria.
