Abstract

Cibaliung Sumberdaya (CSD, llc) is one of the companies that runs gold mining industry in Indonesia. PT CSD use underground mining system with cut and fill method. Underground mining in CSD is divided to two main activities; production and development. Blasting plays a big roll, either in production and development in its sequence to break open ore or waste to be excavated. Blasting’s success is rated by the advancement of the heading. Blasting results from CSD had not reached the company’s target (2 m). Average advancement in a month is 1,6 m in Cibitung decline and 1,55 m in Cikoneng decline. The objective from this research is to produce a better blasting advancement. Research method is executed by learning parameters which affect to advancement of blasting and apply it to the field. Parameters that affect to advancement of a blasting are drilling pattern, total of blasthole, total of empty hole (rimmer), blasting material, and blasting delay. Drilling pattern in PT CSD (development) is burn cut with 44 blast hole and 1 empty hole at Cibitung decline and Cikoneng decline. New drilling pattern is calculated by using Jimeno’s formula. The results are 39 blast holes with 4 empty holes for Cibitung decline and 35 blast holes along with 4 empty holes for Cikoneng decline. New drilling pattern design generates better blasting result; 2 m in Cibitung decline and 2,2 m in Cikoneng decline that set up to more profitable powder factor
