Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of revenue and expenditure of the South Sumatra Provincial Government in 2014 - 2018. This study uses data contained in the South Sumatra Provincial Government's budget realization report for the 2014-2018 fiscal year. Data collection techniques used in this study were direct observation to the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), namely by observing directly the financial information application system used and conducting a brief interview with the research subjects. The results of this study indicate that the level of effectiveness and efficiency of revenue and expenditure of the South Sumatra Provincial Government in 2014 - 2018 is quite effective, but it is less efficient. Suggestions that can be given in this research are the Government of South Sumatra Province in planning the preparation of the revenue and expenditure budget should guide the realization of the previous year's budget or calculate and review carefully and measurably the potential revenue and expenditure that will be realized, in order to reach the effective and efficient.
