Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading and writing skills of in 2th grade students of SD Negeri 128 Palembang theme 4 using the PAKEM approach aided by word card media. This research uses the method of classroom action with three cycles of action. Data collection techniques that is used is test and observation. Action class research has four stages namely Planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Subject in the research is 2th grade student of SD Negeri 128 Palembang with a total of 38 students consisting of 19 females students and 19 male students . The results of this research indicates that the completeness of student learning outcomes in first cycle amounted to 65,79%, in cycle II the completeness of students was 73.69%, and in cycle III the completeness of student learning outcomes increased to 92.10%. From the result of observation , in the first cycle the percentage of student activity reached 83,11% within the active category, in the second cycle the percentage of student activity reached 87,28% within the active category, and in the third cycle there was an increase of 91.00% within the very active category. So it can be concluded that the application of the PAKEM approach assisted using word card media can improve the learning outcomes of students in the heat transfer theme 4 in 2th grade students of SD Negeri 128 Palembang.
