Abstract

Lightweight concrete adalah jenis beton yang memiliki berat jenis lebih rendah dibandingkan beton konvensional dengan berat jenis di bawah 1.860 kg/m³ dan kuat tekan maksimumnya 41.360 MPa. Lightweight concrete dapat dibuat dengan berbagai cara, seperti penambahan foam dan menggunakan agregat ringan. Expanded polystyrene sebagai salah satu bahan industri yang sering ditemukan merupakan salah satu bahan yang dapat digunakan sebagai agregat. Penggunaan foam dan expanded polystyrene dalam beton dapat mengurangi berat jenis beton secara siginifikan. Komposisi dari lightweight concrete terdiri atas portland composite cement, expanded polystyrene, air dan foam. Sorptivity adalah sebagai ukuran kapasitas medium untuk menyerap atau menyerap cairan dengan kapilaritas. Permukaan beton biasanya terpapar 1 sisi, sehingga pengujian sorptivity dilakukan untuk mengetahui kapilaritas suatu beton yang terpapar air. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengujian sorptivity terhadap beton ringan dengan variasi diameter expanded polystyrene dan rasio W/C. Hasil pengujian sorptivity benda uji akan dibandingkan dengan beton normal
