Abstract

The purpose of this research was to fluctuations in groundwater levels in rice plants with controlled drainage and open drainage and know the physical properties of the soil in tidal land.This research was conducted on November 2018 until March 2019 in Bandar Jaya,OganKomeringIlir,, South Sumatera.This research used field observation method. Farm land use patterns were observed directly in the field in tertiary canals with an area of 8 ha. Sampling was taken as many as 4 points with an area of 8 ha, 1 sample point representing 2 ha in a tertiary plot.The results of this study showed thatthe dynamics of the water level in the Land and in the tertiary channel are more stable by using floodgates. The texture of the soil on the tidal land of Desa Bandar Jaya is dominated by sandy clay loam.The results of this study showed that the dynamics of the water level in the Land and in the tertiary channel are more stable by using floodgates. The texture of the soil on the tidal land of Desa Bandar Jaya is dominated by sandy clay loam.The 0-30 cm layer absorbs water faster because of the large pore space and bulk density small contained in the soil 2,26 g/cm3 and 15%, while the 30-60 cm layer absorbs water for a little longer due to the small pore space and bulk density large 1,11g/cm3 and 58% .It has an acidic pH, Al is very high in the 0-30 cm is 65,62% and 30-60 cm layers is 40,74%, and Fe is high in the 0-30cm layer is 33,34 ppm.
