Abstract

This correlation study aims to determine the relationship between self-awareness and academic procrastination in students of class XI Natural Sciences and Social Sciences at Senior High School (SHS) Number 02 Palembang in 2020. The population of class XI students at SHS Number 02 Palembang is 318 students. The research sample of 76 students using the Slovin formula (to find out the amount of a population). The sampling technique used was proportionate random sampling, each consisting of 9 students from each class. Data collection instruments in this study used a Likert scale. Data analysis technique used in this study is the analysis of Pearson Moment Product correlation. Hypothesis test results show a fairly strong relationship with the results of r = 0.46. The conclusion of the research results is that there is a relationship between self-awareness and academic procrastination in class XI students at SHS Number 02 Palembang. Research subjects have a moderate level of self-awareness, and academic procrastination is also classified as moderate. The variable of self-awareness contributed to academic procrastination of 21.16% and the remaining 78.84% was determined by other variables, such as self-control, self-efficacy, locus of control, self-regulation, and anxiety.
