Abstract

Geographically, the territory of Indonesia lies within the path of the earthquake disaster circle.The earthquake disaster that occurred in Solok in 2018 described the very importance of preparedness.Therefore community preparedness is indispensable in the face of earthquake disaster efforts to reduce the risk of disaster that can inflict casualties and big losses.The purpose of this research is to analyze the level of preparedness of communities in the face of the earthquake disaster in Simpang Tanjuang Nan Ampek Danau Kembar District Regency of Solok West Sumatera.This research used descriptive quantitative method. The population in this study was the entire head of the family in Simpang Tanjuang Nan IV, numbering 2206 heads of families.The number of samples on this study was 101 family heads using simple random sampling techniques. Data collection is done by questionnaire of preparedness instrument consisting of 5 parameters namely knowledge, Attitude, emergency response plan, disaster warning system, and resource mobilization.The results showed that community preparedness in the face of the earthquake disaster in Nagari Simpang Tanjuang Nan IV belongs to the category of "No Ready" which is 55.4%, wich the average of each parameter as follows; Community knowledge belongs to the category of "good" which is 82.2%, community attitude belongs to the category of "good" which is 78.2%, community Emergency plan is classified as "good" category of 56.4%, public disaster warning system classified as In the category "bad" is 73.3%, and the mobilization of community resources belong to the category "bad" ie 85.1%.Based on the results of research concluded that the preparedness of communities in the face of earthquake disaster is not optimal in Nagari Simpang Tanjuang Nan IV.Therefore expected training of earthquake preparedness.
