Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept and self-adjustment in class VII students at SMP Negeri 18 Palembang. The study population was class VII students in Palembang 18 Public Middle School as many as 345 students. The research sample of 78 students using proportional random sampling technique. The instruments in data collection use a Likert scale model which consists of two scales namely the self concept scale and the adjustment scale. Data analysis uses product moment correlation. The results showed that the self-concept variable was in the medium category at 67% and the adjustment in the medium category was 72%. The results of hypothesis testing showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between self-concept and self-adjustment in grade VII students at SMP Negeri 18 Palembang, seen from the correlation coefficient value of 0.64 and the significance value of rhitung> rtabel (0.64> 0.22). This shows that the higher the self-concept, the higher the self-adjustment.
