Abstract
Background: Immunization-preventable diseases are still responsible for 1.5 million child deaths each year. There are 110,000 measles deaths worldwide in 2017. Most of which are experienced by children under five with the total of 345 measles outbreaks in 34 provinces in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence measles immunization status in children in Indonesia (Data Analysis of Indonesian Family Life Survey 2014). Methods: This study used a cross-sectional research design. The data used was secondary data of IFLS 2014 with the population of 2,832 mothers with children (24-59 months) and sample of 1,142 respondents according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate with complex sample multiple logistic regression prediction models. Results: The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal employment status, ANC visits, place of delivery, and residence with measles immunization status. Whereas the variables not related to measles immunization status were variables of maternal age, birth order, family decision making, maternal education level, economic status, health insurance, and PNC visits. The most dominant factor in measles immunization status was antenatal care (ANC) with PR value of 3.010 (95% CI: 1.739-5.211). Conclusion: Factors that influence the status of measles immunization are the maternal employment status, ANC visits, place of delivery, and residence. ANC visit is the most dominant factor influencing measles immunization status after being controlled by maternal employment status and place of delivery. Therefore mother should pay more attention to the health of her children by visiting health services to get measles immunization. Keywords: immunization, indonesia, measles
