Abstract

This thesis entitled Economic Development of Rubber Farmers in Batumarta Unit 1 Village, Lubuk RajaSubdistrict, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (1990-2005): (Contribution of Material in Economic History Courses of Sriwijaya University History Education Study Program). Rubber plantations are one of the types of agriculture that exist in Indonesia, rubber plantations are spread in several regions of Indonesia, one of them in South Sumatra, Batumarta 1 Village, Lubuk Raja District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. The problem discussed by the author is how the history of rubber plantations in the area of Batumarta 1 Village, Lubuk Raja District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. How was the development of rubber farmers in Batumarta 1 Village, Lubuk Raja Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ulu District in the year (1990-1995). How was the development of rubber farmers in Batumarta 1 Village, Lubuk Raja Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ulu District in 1996-2005. The writing method used is the historical method, using Heuristic steps, Source Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography which is done through interview research methods. The results of this study generally illustrate how the development of rubber agriculture in Batumarta 1 Village, Lubuk Raja Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ulu District in the year (1990-2005). It develops very well because it is influenced by high rubber prices. While the approach used is a geographic approach, a sociological approach, an economic approach.Based on this study it can be concluded that the development of rubber agriculture in the year (1990-2005) increased due to high selling prices. Rubberfarming is still one of the main sources of income for the village community in Batumarta 1 Village, Lubuk Raja Sub-District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency.
