Abstract

This research is a descriptive study which aims to describe the students' mathematical argumentation abilities in Probability through modeling-based learning. The Subjects of this research were 21 students on the VIII grade of SMP Srijaya Negara in Palembang. The main data collection technique in this research was written test consisting of 3 Probability questions. The results of this study indicate that 1) Students categorized as very good was 2 students or 9.52%, 2) Students categorized as good was 11 students or 52.38%, 3) Students categorized as quite was 7 students or 33.33% 4) Students categorized as low was 1 student or 4.76%. The average grade of students is 69.12 or in the Good category.
