Abstract

Palembang City is the area with the highest number of dengue fever cases in South Sumatra. Jakabaring Subdistrict is the second highest incidence rate of dengue fever in Palembang City Pembina Health center is a Health center located in Jakabaring District with the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever increasing every year. The average free range of Pembina Health center is 81.67% in 2018. The purpose of this study is to analyze the type of container, container material, container color, container location, container condition, mosquito nest eradication measures actions towards the existence of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae in the working area of the Pembina Health Center. This study used a cross sectional study with Simple Random Sampling (SRS) of 110 house. Data analysis was performed univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test and fisher exact alternative test. The results showed the existence of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae, was a larva positive house (42.7%). The entomology survey in Silaberanti and 8 Ulu villages were House Index (42.02% and 44.90%), Container Index (27.50% and 22.75%), Breateau Index (107.24 and 92.68) ), and larvae free rates (57.97% and 56.09%) with the density of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes are high (DF = 6-9). Bivariate results show that there is a relationship between the type of container (p-value 0,002), container material (p-value 0,000), color of the container (p-value 0,000), container condition (p-value 0,000) and mosquito nest eradication measures (p-value 0,000). And there is no relationship between the location of the container (p-value 0.340). The existence and density of larvae in the Working Area of the Pembina Health Center of the Trustees are classified as high, it is influenced by container factors, preventive behavior, and the environment which is a dense residential area with close proximity of houses. Preventive action should involve the participation of the community, health services, and the government in order to increase the rate of larvae-free and reduce the transmission of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in the working area of the Pembina Health Center Palembang City.
