Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of potassium dosage on growth and yield of purple waxy corn. This study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 6 treatments repeated 4 times and each replication contained of 3 plants, so there were 72 of plants. The treatments were: K0 No K, K1 25 kg ha-1 of K fertilizer, K2 50 kg ha-1 of K fertilizer, K3 75 kg ha-1 of K fertilizer, K4 100 kg ha-1 of K fertilizer, K5 125 kg ha-1 of K fertilizer. The results showed that the treatment of K3 = 75 kg ha-1 gave the best result on the growth and yield of purple waxy corn which was produced plants with the best average on plant height 185.7 cm and the highest average number of leaves 10.8 strands, average the weight of the cob with cornhusk weight 101 g, the weight of the cob without the cornhusk 98.4 g, the length of the cob is 12 cm, the diameter of the cob is 3.6 cm, the number of rows one cob is 9.08, the number of seeds one row is 28.5 and the number of seeds one cob 262.1.
