Abstract

METHIONINE IS ONE OF THE ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS THAT HAS FUNCTION FOR GROWTH FISH. THIS RESEARCH HAD BEEN CONDUCTED FROM AUGUST TO OCTOBER 2018 AT MAIN CENTRE FOR MARINEWATER AQUACULTURE IN LAMPUNG. THE METHOD USED IN THE RESEARCH WAS COMPLETELY RANDOMIZED DESIGN (CRD) WITH THREE TREATMENTS AND THREE REPLICATIONS. K (METHIONINE 1.61%) USED COMMERCIAL FEED MEGAMI GR-3 WITHOUT ADDITION OF METHIONINE, P1 (METHIONINE 2.80%) AND P2 (METHIONINE 3.46%). P1 AND P2 USED FORMULATION FEED. THE OBSERVED PARAMETERS WERE ABSOLUTE WEIGHT GROWTH, TOTAL FEED INTAKE, FEED CONVERTION RATIO, PROTEIN RETENTION, FAT RETENTION, SURVIVAL RATE AND WATER QUALITY. THE RESULT SHOWED THAT TREATMENTS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY EFFECT (P<0.05) TO ABSOLUTE WEIGHT GROWTH, TOTAL FEED INTAKE, PROTEIN RETENTION, FAT RETENTION AND SURVIVAL RATE OF JUVENILE TIGER GROUPER. P1 GAVE HIGHEST ABSOLUTE WEIGHT GROWTH (31.54 GRAM), ABSOLUTE LENGHT GROWTH (4.30 CM), FEED INTAKE (60.93 GRAM.FISH-1), PROTEIN RETENTION (22.15%), SURVIVAL RATE (95.00%) AND NET INCOME (RP158.200,00). WATER QUALITIES OF THIS RESEARCH WERE PH 7.93-8.03, DISSOLVED OXYGEN 5.00-5.88 MG.L-1, TEMPERATURE 28.90-29.00 0C, SALINITY 32.00 G.L-1, AND NITRITE 0.28-0.51 MG.L-1.
