Abstract
The study aims to design a floating raft using buoys to support planting media that can support the burden of the plan. This research was conducted in October 2019 until January 2020. The research method uses descriptive method with direct observation in the field. The data obtained will be presented in the form of tables and graphs and engineering design consisting of 2 stages, viz : 1) stage of facility design and manufacture, and 2) stage of facility testing. Observed parameters included calculation of cross-sectional area, calculation of buoy volume, analysis of buoyancy force, and calculation of plan load. The results obtained are the volume of buoys affecting the load that can be supported by the raft. The greater the volume of buoy used, the greater the load that can be supported. Comparison of the load required for a submerged raft of 5 cm (for rice plants) or the actual load with a planned load of 3 : 2. The actual load calculation for each volume of buoy is based on the planned load, can be calculated using the equation y = 1,106x + 12,9.
