Abstract
Background: Ojek online biker is a profession with daily activities more done by sitting. The position of sitting on a motorcycle could be affected by motorcycle saddle design. Riding on a motorcycle with a static position and in a long time will cause problems in the spine. One of the side effects of a static sitting posture for long period of time can cause musculoskeletal complaints. The most common musculoskeletal complaints is Low Back Pain (LBP). The study aims to review the association of sitting position and motorcycle saddle design incompatibility with low back pain on ojek online bikers. Method: This research is an observational cross sectional study with consecutive sampling. The population are all ojek online (Gojek) in Palembang. The samples are 108 ojek online bikers in Palembang. The data obtained in this research is primary data from questionnaire and measuring result. Analysis of data used univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square test and Rank Spearman correlation test. Results: Out of 108 bikers, 80 bikers have low back pain. Bikers with upright sitting position are 27 people (25.0%), hunched sitting position are 8 people (7.4%) and leaning sitting position are 73 people (67.6%). There was no significant association between sitting position and low back pain on ojek online bikers (p<0.05, r=0.598). From the correlation test using rank spearman, the result showed very weak correlation and not significant between low back pain and motorcycle saddle design incompatibility at 95% confidence interval (p>0.05). Conclusion: There was no significant association of sitting position and motorcycle saddle design incompatibility with low bak pain on ojek online bikers.
