Abstract

Lebak swamp land is a land that has low soil fertility. The giving of organic pellet fertilizer made from kascing, azolla biomass and coal fly ash and NPK fertilizer in inpara variety rice cultivation is carried out to improve soil fertility in lebak swamp land. This research was aimed to determine the effect of organic pellet fertilizer and NPK fertilizer on the availability of N-soil and the growth of rice (Oryza sativa L.) in lebak swamp land. This research was conducted in September-December 2019 at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The design used in this research was a Factorial Complete Randomized Design (RALF) consisting of 2 treatment factors. The first factor is organic pellet fertilizer with four treatment was P0 = 0 ton ha-1 (control), P1 = 10 ton ha-1 (38 g pot-1), P2 = 20 ton ha-1 (76 g pot-1), P3 = 30 ton ha-1 (114 g pot-1) and the second factor is inorganic NPK fertilizer with three treatments was A0 = 0% (control), A1 = 50% x recommended dose, A2 = 100% x recommended dose. The results showed that the application of 20 tons ha-1 organic pellet fertilizer can increase soil pH value, height growth of rice plants and maximum number of tillers. NPK fertilizer application with recommended dose of 100% (300 kg urea ha-1 + 50 kg SP-36 ha-1 + 150 kg KCl ha-1) can increase the growth of rice plant height and maximum number of tillers. Interaction of 30 tons ha-1 organic pellet fertilizer and 100% recommended dose NPK fertilizer (300 kg urea ha-1 + 50 kg SP-36 ha-1 + 150 kg KCl ha-1) can increase the availability of N-soil and growth rice plant height.
