Abstract

This research is entitled The Effect of Present List with Finger Print on Employee Performance at Public Works Agency of Highways and Spatial Planning of South Sumatra Province. This research is motivated by the existence of employees who are not disciplined with the use of finger print attendance lists. This is evidenced by the availability of data in the field, where there was an increase in the number of employees who were absent without information, where in 2016 the number of employees who were absent without information was 3.67% and in 2017 there were 3.86%. The purpose of this study where to see the application of electronic absenteeism itself can affect the performance of Civil Servants. To find out whether the implementation of the attendance list with finger print was not successful, Prawirosentono theory was used by using four dimensions, namely Effectiveness and Efficiency dimensions, Authority and Responsibility, Discipline, and Initiative. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method based on the results of in-depth interviews with key informants and documentation and observation. The results showed that the application of the attendance list with finger print had not run optimally in accordance with the rules. Because there are still many employees who are absent without information when working hours, the sanctions that have been given both by the superior of the employee and the relevant institution to employees who are not disciplined are not yet clear. This study recommends that the Department of Public Works of Highways and Spatial Planning of South Sumatra Province give strict sanctions to employees if the employees concerned violate disciplinary rules and certainly hamper the performance of employees.
