Abstract
is the waste from hospitals, namely, intravenous infuse bottles and injectors. One of the ways to overcome the rise of these wastes is by recycling them using a chopper machine. A chopper machine is a machine used for chopping materials into the smallest parts, and the product can be used for other usages in accordance with their needs. The process of designing this chopper machine is carried out by planning out the motor engine being used, the way of insertion, axis, bearing, gear wheel, gearbox, pulley, V-belt, the frame of the machine, and the knife spot. Then, the machine's speed is influenced by its potensiometer with 7, 8 and 9 in scale. For a 500 ml bottle of intravenous infuse with 9 in scale, the machine has a 214 volt in suspense, 1.83A in current, 1473 RPM in speed, 266,301 watt in capacity, 1,7272Nm in torsion, 2,61 seconds in time. On the other hand, for two bottles of intravenous infuse with the same weight, the machine has a 213,5 volt in suspense, 2,15A in current, 1470 RPM in speed, 312,137 watt in capacity, 2,028 Nm in torsion, and 3,63 seconds in time. It means that it is true to the theory and formula that the more the waste is chopped, the longer the time is consumed. The suspense is lower, the current is higher, the speed is lower, and the bigger the capacity is, the bigger the torsion becomes.
