Abstract
This research was a descriptive study that aimed to find out the mathematical thinking process of the abstraction aspects of Eleventh Class students through Creative Problem Solving learning on arithmetic sequences and sequences. The subject of this study was 31st grade students of MIPA 2 in Senior High School 4 Palembang. Data collection techniques used three description and interview questions needed as a support. After doing research, the mathematical thinking results obtained the aspect of abstraction students in eleventh class of MIPA 2 in Senior High School number 4 Palembang using Creative Problem Solving learning was that students did more processes of specialization and pattern observation. Students were able to identify problems, make patterns and arrange them into problem solving strategies. But in the process of examining the conjecture, students still needed to be trained to make proofs and solutions in a variety of ways to get accustomed to examining alleged problem solving.
