Abstract

Under Red Line is the nutritional status of a toddlers when weighed is on the red line which shows the indicator towards poor nutritional status or even below red line which shows the poor nutritional status on the healthy card. Palembang city is the city with the highest prevalence under red line, amounting to 610 toddlers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sosial demography status and mothers behavior toward incidence of under red line. The method used in this study is an analytical survey using the cross sectional. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with a total sample of 88 mothers in each district. This study was conducted in the subdictrict Kertapati and Gandus. Data analysis used was univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using chi square. Based on chi square test in the subdistrit Kertapati and Gandus variable showed a siginificant effect is the factor of family income and mother’s parenting. However, in the subdistrict Kertapati others significant effect are mother’s knowledge and mother’s attitude and in the subdistrict Gandus others significant effect are mother’s age and mother’s education. It is expected that mothers to be active in finding information about growth and development of toddlers through existing media.
