Abstract

The research aims to determine chlorophyll, phycocyanin and flavonoid Spirulina platensis extract which is cultured in technical media and catfish aquaculture wastewater. The research method was an experimental laboratory with 2 treatments dan 3 replications. The first treatment is Spirulina platensis cultured in technical media and second cultured in catfish aquaculture wastewater. Parameter observed were maximum density, growth rate, chlorophyll, phycocyanin and total flavonoid. The results showed that different media significantly affected the maximum density, growth rate and chlorophyll content in Spirulina platensis. However no significant effect was noticed in the content of phycocyanin and total flavonoids. Maximum density and best growth rate in catfish aquaculture wastewater was 0,76 gL-1 wet biomass and 21,26% day-1. Chlorophyll, pycocyanian and flavonoid in technical media 0,34%, 12,61%, 123,96 mg/g extract and 0,18%, 12,29%, 115,47 mg/g extract from catfish aquaculture wastewater. The results show that Spirulina platensis cultivated in catfish wastewater had same the performance as Spirulina platensis cultured in technical media.
