Abstract

Bromelin enzym is proteolytic enzim that works in the digestive tract by hydrolyzing protein. Therefore, the fish feed by pineapple hump extract that is contain of bromelin is expected to increase the fish feed efficiency and fish growth. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of feed by pineapple hump extract on Growth and feed efficiency of catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus). The research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments are pineapple hump extract dosage 0% (P0); 1.25% (P1); 2.50% (P2); 3.75% (P3) and 5% (P4). The parameters that observed in this research are absolute growth of lenght and weight, feed efficiency, survival rate, and water quality of rearing media of catfish. The results showed that the best treatments was fish feed by 3.75% pineapple humb extract (P3) with absolute growth of length and weight 4.96 cm and 5.43 g, respectively and feed efficiency 75.03%. The survival rate of fish that gave P3 treatment was 100%.
