Abstract

The electrical energy demand has been increase over the years in many region. Especially Palembang which known as a development center and public activities in South Sumatera. In order to fulfill the energy demand, PT. PLN (Persero) as service supply of electricity do many effort to cope the demand. One of them is build the new distribution substation to distribute the electrical power into the loads in a various place along the distribution network. One of the latest distribution substation built in Palembang is New Jakabaring Substation. Power distribution through long network to reach the load will cause the lack of power quantity and quality which harm both of supplier and customers. These lack named as power losses and drop voltage. Many research do to analyze and evaluate the amount of power losses and drop voltage occur in a distribution system. This research analyze the amount of power losses and drop voltage at Padjajaran feeder of New Jakabaring Substation which has network length of 11,27 km and 55 transformers. According to calculation, the power losses of Padjajaran feeder is 21,62 kW with drop voltage rate of 258.8545 V or 1.31%. The losses and drop voltage at Padjajaran feeder in accordance to standard of SPLN 1:1995 which regulates the variety of voltage are maximum +5% and minimum -10% of nominal voltage and power losses amount allowed as small as possible.
