Abstract

This study aims to find out how much the number of agricultural tools and machines needed in Musi Rawas Regency and to find out how much the investment costs incurred to purchase agricultural equipment and machinery in order to increase rice production in Musi Rawas Regency. This research has been carried out in October to with December 2019 at the Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Musi Rawas Regency, BPP (Agricultural Extension Agency) office, PPL (Field Agricultural Extension), Head of UPJA (Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Service Business), Poktan / Gapoktan in several sample Districts (Muara Beliti, Tugumulyo and Purwodadi). This study uses descriptive-quantitative methods, data collection sourced from primary and secondary data presented in tabular form. The parameters observed in the study were the area of agricultural land, the number of available machineries, the level of adequacy of machineries, the investment costs of machineries. Alsintan types that are often used by farmers in several districts are 2-wheel tractors (TR-2), RMU, and power thresher, TKA (Alsintan sufficiency level) in Musi Rawas Regency, most of them are in the level of very low to high with the category of very low to very low more, the highest TKA is RMU agricultural tools and machinery, procurement of required machineries based on the level of needs and appropriate use, namely 2-wheel tractor, power thresher,and Rice Milling Unit. The amount of investment costs needed to purchase alsintan is Rp. 136,017,070,000 or one hundred thirty-six billion, seventeen million, seventy thousand rupiah.
