Abstract

GAVALA learning model has been applied to basic chemistry amino acid and protein material in Palembang class 1st semester in academic year 2019/2020 biology education study program Sriwijaya University. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of the GAVALA learning model on the student learning outcomes. The research method was using a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. The sample used was students of Palembang class as the experimental class and Indralaya class as the control class. From the research results obtained, the average pretest value in the experimental class is 34.46 and the average posttest is 75.89. While the average pretest in the control class is 26,81 and the posttest average is 46.06. The results of the hypothesis test analysis using the t test at a significance level of 5%, obtained t (count) > t (table), that is 13,537>2,001. Thus Ho is rejected, meaning that there is an influence of the GAVALA learning model on the learning outcomes.
