Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) Analyzing the level of welfare of rubber farmers after the decline in slab selling prices in Nusa Makmur Village, Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin District, 2) Assessing the survival strategies of rubber farmers after the decline in slab selling prices in Nusa Makmur Village, Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin District . This research was conducted in Nusa Makmur Village, Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin Regency. The choice of location was done purposively based on the consideration that in Nusa Makmur Village the majority of the population worked as rubber farmers as the main livelihood. The method used in this study was the survey method. Data taken in this study was the data from December 2019 to January 2020. The sampling method used was the simple random sampling method. The number of samples taken in this study were 33 farmers from 324 rubber farming families in Nusa Makmur Village, Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin District. The number of samples taken from 10%. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The results of the study can be concluded 1) that the level of welfare of rubber farmers in Nusa Makmur Village, Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin District, rubber farmers have NTPRP of 0.90 (NTPRP ≤ 1), so it can be said that rubber farmers have not been prosperous. 2) the survival strategy obtained is an indirect strategy which is to save money in part of income or save money for purposes if there is an urgent need and a network strategy that is a component of family efforts to borrow.
